It’s A SCAM!

Come join this class hosted by some of our local Oxford Federal Credit Union members! Learn about common scam methods, what you can do to spot them and how you can protect your finances from them. This presentation will include actual examples and consumer stories, and will teach you what to do if you fall for a scam. This class will be held twice this fall so if you miss out on the first in September, you can still catch the one in November!

In just a few hours you can learn enough about playing guitar to give you years of musical enjoyment, and you wont have to take private lessons to do it! This course will teach you some basic chords and get you playing along with your favorite songs right away. Fee includes the online book, online follow up lessons, a recording of the class, and also an optional periodic question and answer session. Class is held online using zoom and is part hands on instruction and part lecture/demonstration. Ages 13+.

Garlic Growing

Are you interested in learning how to grow garlic? Join us for this workshop and learn how to grow garlic successfully and with the least amount of fuss. We will discuss choosing seed garlic, garden preparations and planting, good growing techniques, weed control, troubleshooting, harvesting and curing. We will go over storing your harvest for fresh use all winter and into spring. The class includes recipes for using and preserving all the parts of the plant, and will be great for both first timers and more experiences gardeners swell. A starter pack of 10 garlic cloves will be provided. 

 

This year we will take orders for additional seed garlic. The cost will be $13.50 for half pound or $23 for a full pound. You may preorder at the time of registration or make an order the evening of the class. You will be notified when your garlic has arrived at Region 9 for you to pick up. These additional garlic seed orders will be a separate cost from the class registration fee and payment will be made directly to the instructor on the evening of the class.
